Dancing Mummers


Traditional Dance and Folk Poconé.We do not know where it came from, who introduced here.It is a dance that has indiginas roots, the form of presentation that reveals the customs of the Indians, enriched by Spanish settlers who arrived here.Participants are only masked men, wearing hats with feathers, mirrors and other ornaments, playing function ladies and heartthrobs.They consist of twelve pairs and three goals (three heartthrobs in front of the masked group carrying the mast).Today is presented in the festive days of the city and also at state fairs and national.

Cavalhada


One of the biggest cultural events in the state of Mato Grosso, the Cavalhada Poconé takes place every year in the first weeks of June, during the festivities allusive to the glorious St. Benedict. The event is held in the official track, located in the upper part of the city, the club Pink City, which during the event becomes a major battleground between Moors and Cristões knights to preserve the continuity of a tradition that takes place several years ago and practiced since the origin of Poconé.

Feast of the Glorious Saint Benedict
